Fuel cell stack modules

Highly efficient, environmentally compatible, future proof.

Functionality

A fuel cell stack consists of a pile of cells consisting of bipolar plates, membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs), seals and end plates, plus the tensioning system.

Stack modules from ElringKlinger, however, also contains other system functionalities. These are integrated into a special media module made of plastic and typically contain sensors for pressure and temperature, valves, water separators for the anode circuit and optional customer-specific functionalities. These additional functionalities significantly simplify the integration of the stacks
into customer systems and result in a compact design.

This picture shows three fuel cell stacks in different sizes.

  • High power density

  • Compact design and low weight

  • Robust and reliable technology

  • Low hydrogen consumption for reduced operating costs and longer ranges

  • Automated production processes according to current automotive standards

  • Simplified system integration thanks to function-integrated media module, assured quality and comprehensive documentation
